Cheng Vang

Compliance Officer – Board Member

Of the eight children born to Don and Pai Vang, Cheng is the sixth. In 1978, the Vang family became the first ethnic Hmong Seventh-day Adventists to arrive in America for resttlement due to the Vietnam War. As Cheng grew up, accepted the call to dedicate his life towards the gospel starting in 2005. Since that time, he has labored among the Hmong communities in California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. In 2016, Cheng helped to orchestrate the very first church building purchased for the Hmong Adventist work in North America. Other projects he has completed include the Hmong translation of the GLOW Tract Talking With God, and the recently completed It Is Written Bible Study Guides.

As one of the co-founders of Shathal International, Cheng was impressed by God’s Spirit to help nail down the name, its meaning and application, a logo design, and a powerful acronym in order to amplify the organization’s mission. Currently, he contributes towards many of the technical and marketing aspects that arise. Though he has a knack for computers, Cheng chose to obtain associate degrees in accounting and business administration from Sierra College. One of his favorite Bible subjects is the character of God and His eventual vindication. Cheng has been married almost 15 years to his wife, Nhou, and they enjoy doing ministry to the Hmong community together.
